Polk County Sheriff's Office detectives are seeking the whereabouts of a suspect wanted in an armed robbery and battery that occurred on October 10, 2004.

At around 8:00 p.m. that evening, the victim was at the BP Station at 2550 CR 557 in Polk City. The suspect, armed with a handgun, approached the victim, punched him several times, threatened to shoot him, and snatched a necklace from his neck. He then fled in an unknown direction.

The suspect was identified as Jessie Mercado Jaimes, DOB 6/19/75, of 5480 Wilbar Lane in Haines City. He has been charged via affidavit with Robbery and Battery. He also has a warrant for his arrest for Violation of Probation (Possession of Marijuana and Resisting With Violence).
