Polk County Sheriff's detectives are seeking information about a hit-and-run that occurred in the Wahneta area of Winter Haven last night, December 3, 2004, around 9:00 p.m.

Deputies responded to an injured person call at the intersection of Bomber Road and Rifle Range Road and found a 49-year-old male victim suffering from serious head and leg injuries. Witnesses stated the man was walking across the street when he was struck by a maroon and gold SUV with dark tinted windows driven by a possibly Hispanic male.
The victim was transported to LRMC, where he remains in critical condition.

The victim's name is Antonia Paloma, of 141 West Central Avenue in Winter Haven. Deputies are searching for family members of Mr. Paloma's.  If anyone has information about his family or was a witness to this incident, they are urged to contact the Polk County Sheriff's Office at 863-533-0344, or 1-800-226-0344.
