Polk County Sheriff's Office Robbery detectives are seeking information about an armed robbery that occurred on January 8, 2005.

At 10:15 p.m. that evening, an unknown white male suspect entered the lobby of the Tropicana Resort motel, at 43420 US Hwy 27 in Davenport, and inquired about a room. The suspect then told the clerk that he had a gun on him, and demanded money from the cash register. The victim gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect fled southbound in a light gray or blue mid-sized sedan on US Hwy 27.  The suspect was described as a white male, 5'11", 190 lbs., with salt & pepper hair, 3-4 days' growth beard, wearing a long-sleeved checkered shirt and blue Dickies-style pants. His skin was tan and leathery as if he spends a lot of time out in the sun. Detectives believe this robbery may be related to two other robberies in the area: Perkins, at 10:30 p.m. on December 10th, and Denny's at 10:00 p.m. on December 13th.
