Information Sought In Armed Robbery and Kidnapping  Sought

Polk County Sheriff's detectives are seeking information about an armed robbery and kidnapping that occurred in Haines City on Friday, April 11, 2008. At 8:00 p.m. that evening, the victims were driving on the property of the Haines City Flea Market when they were approached by an unknown Hispanic male suspect armed with a handgun, who first asked for a ride, then forced his way into their vehicle. The suspect, pointing the handgun at them, demanded that the victims drive to a house on East Hinson Avenue in Haines City. When they arrived at the house, the suspect forced the victims inside and robbed them of their personal belongings. The victims were then tied up, and the suspect fled with four other suspects who were in the house. The victims were able to escape and call law enforcement. They found their car abandoned at a convenience store located at 30th Street and Hinson Avenue.

The suspects can be seen in video surveillance using the victims’ stolen credit cards. The suspect who was armed is seen here with long hair pulled into a bun, and a tattoo on his right arm. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Detective Christopher Lynn 1-800-226-0344 or (863) 534-6379.
