Polk County Sheriff's Robbery detectives are seeking information about an armed robbery that occurred at the Kangaroo store located at 14581 US Hwy 27 in Frostproof.

Around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 18, 2009, an unknown black male entered the store's bathroom and came out covering his face with a paper towel. He approached the clerk and demanded money from the register, threatening to shoot her in the process. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the store in a blue mid-90's model four door sedan, going south on US Hwy 27.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 30 years old, 6'2", 220 lbs., wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt with a black design on it, and a black ball cap. A photo of him from video surveillance can be seen here.
