INFORMATION SOUGHT IN WHEREABOUTS   Sought 

Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating a Shooting Suspect.

At approximately 2:33 am, on Sunday, November 1, 2009, PCSO deputies responded to the B.P. Station located at 700 North Wabash Avenue, Lakeland, where a crowd of individuals had become disorderly.

As deputies arrived, they heard shots coming from the area of the store, and a number of those in the crowd fled.  Deputies then discovered that an 18-year-old female had been shot.

According to witnesses, 26-year-old Altonio Speed, (at large) had discharged a firearm from a vehicle into the crowd striking the victim in the chest.  She was transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center in critical condition.  Speed fled the area.  There is a warrant for Speed on charges of Attempted Murder.
