CRIME STOPPERS REWARD INCREASED TO $2,500

Polk County Sheriff's Robbery detectives are seeking information about a home invasion robbery that occurred on Wednesday, February 24, 2010.

At around 4:30 a.m. that morning, an unknown white male suspect kicked in the back door of the residence located at 305 Hickory Hammock Road in Lake Wales, waking up the 69-year-old female homeowner who was sleeping on the couch in the living room. The suspect demanded jewelry and cash from the victim, threatening to kill her if she did not comply. The suspect then punched the victim about the head and face before running into another room and removing cash from her purse. The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a white male with dark brown hair, between 18-22 years of age, approximately 5'5" to 5'6" tall, 120 lbs., wearing a white T-shirt and knee-length white shorts with a black plaid pattern on them. The plaid pattern consisted of black double lines.

If anyone has information about this incident they are urged to contact Detective Mike Evans at 863.534.6379 or 1.800.226.0344.
