Polk County Sheriff's Robbery detectives are seeking information about an armed personal robbery that occurred on Sunday, May 9, 2010.
Around 9:50 p.m. that evening, the victim was walking south along Avenue Y NE near Edwin Street in Winter Haven when two unknown black male suspects who had been walking in front of the victim suddenly approached him, one of them armed with a handgun. The armed suspect pointed the gun at the victim and demanded that he empty his pockets. When the victim raised his hands in the air and stepped backwards, one of the suspects approached him and struck him in the face with the handgun, and continued to demand his personal belongings. The suspects then fled the scene on foot, heading westbound on Edwin Street.
The suspects are described as: a black male, approximately 16 years of age, 5'6" tall, 120-140 lbs., with short dreadlocks, wearing black knee-length shorts and no shirt, and a red bandanna around his face. He was armed with a chrome-colored handgun; and a black male suspect, approximately 16 years of age, 5'6" tall, 120-140 lbs., with short black hair, wearing black knee-length shorts and a white tank top, and a black bandanna around his face.
