Polk County Sheriff's Robbery detectives are seeking information about a bank robbery that occurred on Thursday, May 20, 2010.
At 2:36 p.m., two unknown, masked, armed black male suspects ran into the Platinum Bank located at 5404 South Florida Avenue in Lakeland. The suspects jumped over the counter and pointed handguns at the tellers, demanding money. The tellers complied with their demands. The suspects then fled in a gold 4-door Chrysler, heading east on Fitzgerald Road.
The suspects are described as: a black male, 5'8", 150-160 lbs., wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with black checked stripes, long black shorts, white shoes with black markings, gray gloves, and a black ski mask; and a black male, 5'8", 160-170 lbs., wearing a black T-shirt with an unknown white design, a white long-sleeved undershirt, black pants, black shoes, black mechanic-style gloves, and a brown ski mask. Both suspects were armed with semi-automatic handguns.
