Polk County Sheriff’s Agriculture deputies need the public’s help in solving Thefts to irrigation pump houses.  Unknown suspects have been removing  copper fuel lines, battery cables, and the batteries, leaving the citrus irrigations pumps inoperable.

The incidents have occurred in the Southeast area of Polk County Citrus groves, specifically in the rural areas of Alturas, Lake Wales, Babson Park, and Frostproof during the nighttime hours.

Both electric and diesel pumps have been targeted during the month of September.  The suspects cut fuel lines and battery cables, and remove batteries during the incidents.  The pumps affected have been visible from the road and secluded within the grove area.
