Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking for the public’s help in an Armed Robbery investigation.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:05 pm Thursday, October 28, 2010, at the “This and That Thrift Store,” 1423 Combee Road, Lakeland.  The clerk was struck with a blunt object during the crime.

According to witness information, the suspect is described as a black female, approximately 5’9” tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds, with straight black hair.  She was neatly dressed wearing white pants and an unknown color shirt.

The suspect had been shopping in the store for approximately an hour before she approached the victim to check out. While the victim totaled the suspect’s purchases the suspect distracted the victim by inquiring about the price of another item. When the victim turned, the suspect struck the victim with an unknown blunt object on the back of the head.  The suspect demanded and took money, a cell phone, as well as, contents from the store register. The suspect then fled the store.  The suspect is believed to have traveled along Highway 98 North near Main Street.

The victim suffered a minor laceration to the rear of his head, but declined medical assistance.
