Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking for the public’s help in two separate Retail Theft investigations which occurred at the Best Buy electronics store located at Posner Village, 6300 Grandview Parkway, Davenport.
The first incident occurred at approximately 2:00 pm, on Friday, December 30, 2011. An unknown black male suspect wearing a camouflage sweater entered the store with two boxes and approached the Loss Prevention counter where he obtained two store decals as if he were returning items. The suspect then exited the store with the boxes and stickers. He later re-entered the store in the company of another unknown black male suspect wearing a red shirt. The black male wearing the red shirt picked up two Bose surround-sound stereo systems from the store shelves. The suspect in the red shirt did not go to a check out, but instead approached the Loss Prevention counter with the stereo system boxes. The boxes had been marked with the store decals the first suspect had obtained moments earlier. The suspects left the store and fled in a green in color older model large size van.
The second incident occurred at approximately 545 pm, on Wednesday, January 4, 2012. In that incident, an unknown white female entered the store and purchased two Xbox 360 game consoles. The female entered the parking lot and gave an unknown white male the receipt for her purchase. The white male then entered the store and picked up two more Xbox 360 game consoles. Store personnel attempted to stop the male suspect. He dropped the items and fled the store. He fled in a white Dodge Challenger with black rims which appeared to be waiting on him.
Anyone with information about these two unrelated crimes is urged to contact Detective Heather Marin at 863.36-3928, or 863.298.6200.
