Polk County Sheriff's homicide detectives are seeking information about a homicide that occurred in Winter Haven.

Around 2:00 a.m this morning, Tuesday, February 7, 2012, the male and female roommates (who are boyfriend and girlfriend) of Alicia Nicole McDonald, DOB 9/14/1989, awoke to use the restroom and noticed blood in their house. They share the house, located at 928 Sunshine Way SW in Winter Haven, with Alicia. After seeing the blood they found that Alicia and her vehicle were missing.

The roommates spent the next two hours looking for Alicia and making phone calls. After not finding her, they drove to the Winter Haven Police Department around 4:00 a.m. to report her missing. WHPD sent out a BOLO (Be On Look Out) with Alicia's information, and a description of her car, a blue 2007 four-door Suzuki Forenza.

Around 5:15 a.m. a Polk County Sheriff's deputy on patrol in the Winter Haven area found the BOLO'ed vehicle parked at the end of a cul-de-sac on Varner Drive in Winter Haven. When he approached the car, he found Alicia dead inside the car, in the passenger seat. Detectives have determined she is the victim of a homicide.

If anyone has information about this incident they are urged to contact the Polk County Sheriff's Office at 863.298.6379.
