INFORMATION SOUGHT IN A RETAIL THEFT  Sought 
 

Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking for the public’s help in a retail theft investigation.

 

On Thursday February 1, 2018, around 2:56 p.m., a retail theft occurred at the Publix located at 6767 Hwy 98 N. in Lakeland.

 

 

An unknown older Hispanic male walked into Publix wearing an orange shirt, shorts, and tennis shoes. While inside Publix, he filled a shopping cart with numerous food items. The suspect then pushed the cart past the checkout counters without paying for the merchandise. The suspect left Publix in a newer model Acura SUV, with a folded over paper tag, in an unknown direction. The suspect has also been flagged by Publix loss prevention for several other thefts similar to this incident at other Publix locations in the area.
