Polk County Sheriff’s Office Robbery detectives are asking for the public’s help in a Home Invasion/Robbery investigation.

At approximately 9:15 pm, on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, two unknown black males entered a residence located on Dorothy Street, Auburndale. Once inside, one of the suspects pointed a firearm at the seven victims in the home and demanded money and property.  There were three adults and four children, ranging in age from 12 years to two weeks, in the home at the time.

Both suspects appeared to be approximately 20-30 years of age.  One was described as being approximately 6’2” tall and approximately 180 pounds, wearing dark colored clothing with a bandana on his face.  The second suspect was described as being approximately 5’8” tall and approximately 220 pounds, also wearing all dark clothing with a bandana on his face.  The weapon was described as possibly being a Smith and Wesson semi-automatic handgun.

After taking one of the female victim’s purses, the suspects fled on foot traveling west on Dorothy Street.  They were then observed getting into a silver colored SUV and traveling north on Berkley Road.

Anyone with information about this investigation is urged to contact Detective Matthew Radabaugh at 863.298.6200.
