Polk County Sheriff's deputies are asking for the public’s help in a Vehicle Theft investigation.

On May 27, 2014, between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., an unknown suspect entered the carport of a residence in the 900 block of M.L.K. Street, in Dundee.  Once under the attached carport, the suspect(s) stole a Gray 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis.  The vehicle was inoperable and appeared to have been loaded on a flatbed truck or trailer when it was removed.

The stolen vehicle was later recovered in a grove, near Tank Road, in Lake Wales.  The dashboard, stereo equipment, and rear seats were removed from the abandoned car.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Michael Britt at 863-438-9540, or 863-298-6200.
