Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing person.

22-year-old Franklin “Frankie” James, III, has been missing since April 12, 2014, after being dropped off at Walgreens, 6730 US Highway 98 North, Lakeland, just before 6:00 pm.

James’ family told detectives, it is not uncommon for James not to call for several weeks at a time, however, he always calls on special occasions and holidays, such as Father’s Day.

James is described as being a white male approximately 5’10” tall, and weighing approximately 165 pounds with blue eyes and blonde hair.  He has numerous tattoos including a blue rose on the left side of his neck, praying hands on his inside right forearm, “Renee” on his inside left forearm,  a marijuana leaf on his right arm, a red white and blue cross on his left arm, and a neck tattoo of rosary beads and a cross. James also has several scars on the inside of his forearms and one in the middle of his lower back.

Detectives have searched the Lakeland area to include homeless shelters to no avail.

Anyone with information about this investigation is urged to contact Detective Laura Rhodes at 863.298.6950, or 863.298.6200.
