INFORMATION SOUGHT IN HOME INVASION  Captured

Polk County Sheriff's detectives are seeking information about an home invasion that occurred in Lakeland on June 21, 2012.

Around 1:30 p.m. that day, the 88-year-old victim, who lives in the 2000 block of West Campbell Road in Lakeland, saw someone running out of her home with her purse. She ran after the unknown suspect as he fled to the garage. When the victim tried to go into the garage after him, he held the door shut between them. The victim was able to get one arm out of the door, but the suspect grabbed a wooden broomstick and struck her arm with it. The suspect then fled with her purse.

After the home invasion, the victim’s stolen debit card was used at the Kathleen Food Mart.

If anyone saw anything suspicious in the area or knows anything about this incident they are urged to contact Detective Shawnee McCawley at 863.298.6200.
