INFORMATION SOUGHT IN CIGARETTE THEFTS  Sought

PCSO and Lake Alfred P.D. detectives are seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect seen on surveillance video smashing-and-grabbing cigarettes from two stores.

The first theft occurred at 2:30 a.m. on Tues, July 11th. The male suspect, who was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, long baggy shorts, black sneakers with white soles, black gloves, and something over his face, breaks the front door of the business (M&J Food Store, 1416 North Combee Rd in Lakeland) and then immediately jumps over the counter. He pulls several cartons of cigarettes from the shelf and throws them into a large bag, then jumps back over the counter and flees.

The second theft occurred about an hour later, at 3:22 a.m. The male suspect, who was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, long baggy shorts, black sneakers with white soles, black gloves, and something over his face, breaks the front door of the business (Charmin Market, 285 South Lake Shore Way in Lake Alfred) and steals 70 cartons of cigarettes, and 40 loose packs, from behind the counter in the store. He also looks in the cash register.

We believe he fled in a early 90s model blue or green Buick or Oldsmobile.
