INFORMATION SOUGHT IN BOAT THEFT TREND  Sought

PCSO deputies are working a trend of boat and boat motor thefts in east Polk County. A suspect driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee was seen before and after he/she stole a boat from Breeze Way in the Walk-in-Water area on July 25, 2017. The same suspect vehicle was seen in Lake Hamilton on July 27, 2017.

To date, PCSO and some city police departments have responded to and investigated nearly 20 different boat and boat motor thefts, in the Winter Haven and Lake Wales areas. In many of the cases, the boats that were stolen were parked in a yard. Even though some of the trailers had locks on the hitches, the suspects were able to break the locks, hook the trailers up to their vehicles, and drive off with the boats. In some cases, motors were stolen off the boats, with the boats later abandoned.

If you saw anything suspicious in the Breeze Way area of Lake Wales/Walk-in-Water on July 25th, or have any information about this suspect or these thefts, please contact the Southeast District at 863-678-4115.
