The suspect vehicle has been identified as a 2004-2007 Ford F150 Pickup Truck.  The possible color of the pickup is beige or tan, however the color is unconfirmed at this time.  The pickup truck sustained damage to the right front headlight assembly, the front chrome grill and may have hood or other front damage.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies are asking for the public’s help in a Hit and Run Crash investigation.

Shortly before 5:30 am, Wednesday, August 14, 2013, a 48-year-old Haines City man was traveling west on 17/92 on his Yamaha scooter when he was struck from behind.  The crash occurred between Century Drive and Woodland Drive, Lake Alfred.

The impact caused the victim to be ejected from the scooter. He has been transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.

Traffic deputies believe the vehicle which struck the victim may be a beige, or two-tone with beige, colored, mid 2004-2007, Ford “F” series pickup truck.  The truck will have damage to the right front head light and possibly all the way to the middle of the front grill.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Deputy David Hooyman at 863.298.6200.
