PCSO Robbery detectives are seeking the public's help in two armed business robberies that may be related.
The first robbery occurred on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at the Dollar General Store located at 4520 US Hwy 92 West in Lakeland.
Around 9:45 p.m. that evening, an unknown black male suspect armed with a black handgun, wearing a black hoodie, a white T-shirt, a face mask, black pants, gloves, black & white sneakers, and carrying backpack, entered the store. After robbing the two clerks at gunpoint and retrieving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled in an unknown direction.
The second robbery occurred on Sunday, December 17, 2017, at the Family Dollar store located at 4285 Kathleen Road in Lakeland.
Around 9:48 p.m. that evening, an unknown black male suspect armed with a black handgun, wearing a gray hoodie, gray sweatpants, a camo fleece scarf over his face, and carrying a black backpack, entered the store and held the employees up at gunpoint. At one point he forced them to walk outside and get into a car, which was locked. He ordered them to go back inside, at which point they locked the front door and fled to the safety of the office. The suspect was unable to get back in, and he fled. The suspect is described as 6' tall, 250-300 lbs., and can be seen here in video surveillance photos.
