Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking for the public’s help in a Grand Theft investigation.

In the pre-dawn hours of Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at Jimmy’s Food and Deli located at 14907 Highway 60 East, Lake Wales, suspects driving two separate tractor trailer trucks removed diesel fuel from the pumps and fled without paying. 

The first truck was captured on video surveillance driving behind the business and up to the diesel pump area at approximately 1:45 am.  The second semi-tractor trailer pulled up next to the first semi at fuel pumps at approximately 2:05 am.    

The unknown suspects removed 361 gallons of diesel fuel by breaking off the fuel cap and accessing the underground tank.

The semi-tractors were last seen heading west on Hwy 60 toward Lake Wales.
