INFORMATION SOUGHT IN ARMED ROBBERY AT BP GAS STATION  Sought

Polk County Sheriff's Robbery detectives are seeking the public's help in identifying an armed robbery suspect. On Monday, September 1, 2008, around 5:30 p.m., the unknown suspect entered the BP Gas Station located at 43567 US Hwy 27 North in Davenport and pointed a handgun at the clerk, demanding money. When a second clerk walked to the front of the store, the suspect then threatened to kill the clerk if they both did not comply. After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the scene northbound on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male, 6'1" to 6'2", 180-190 lbs., wearing a white shirt, blue jean shorts, black shoes, a dark colored hat, and sunglasses. Photos of the suspect from video surveillance are seen here.

Detectives would also like to speak to a person of interest in reference to this investigation, whom they believe may have seen the suspect just before the robbery. The person of interest is described as a black male, approximately 5'10"-6' tall, thin build, with a goatee, wearing a T-shirt and jeans. His photo can be seen below.
