Polk County Sheriff's Traffic Homicide deputies are seeking information about a fatal hit and run crash that killed a Wahneta woman on Tuesday, June 3, 2008.

Sometime between the hours of 5:00 and 6:00 a.m. that morning on 1st Street West in Wahneta, about 1/2 mile off Snively Avenue, a car heading westbound struck and killed 56-year-old Piedad Macedo as she was heading westbound in her wheelchair on the side of the road. The car fled the scene. The car has been tentatively identified as an early to mid 1990’s model Toyota Corolla or Camry, silver or light blue in color.
