At approximately 6:30 pm, on Monday, June 9, 2008, a black male, approached a male victim near his truck on N. Wabash Avenue, Lakeland, demanded money and began to punch and choke the victim. The incident took place just south of Crutchfield Road.
The suspect is described as being approximately 20 years of age, shirtless, possibly having a tattoo of a flower on his right bicep, and his hair was pulled up and into a ponytail. He wore dark colored shorts.
The suspect can be seen in the attached photo, as he entered Sunoco Station, 2100 West Memorial Boulevard, Lakeland moments behind the victim. The victim had run out of gas, walked to the nearby convenience store, purchased gas and walked back to his truck. He was approached as he was pouring the gas into his truck.
