Information Sought In Retail Burglary Trend  Sought 

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Auburndale and Haines City Police Departments to combat a retail burglary trend that is occurring in Polk County.

Detectives believe the same group of suspects is targeting furniture and furniture rental stores, stealing televisions and electronics. They have stolen several trucks and vans to commit the thefts, which are later recovered by law enforcement.  There are several surveillance videos showing the suspects breaking into the stores and carrying out televisions. Details of the crimes are as follows:

  • March 13, 2008 Aaron’s Rental 639 West 17/92 HCPD case
  • May 14, 2008 Badcock Furniture 1225 North Combee Road PCSO case
  • May 18, 2008 Badcock Furniture 521 Hughes Road APD case
  • May 20, 2008 Badcock Furniture 1225 North Combee Road PCSO case
  • May 20, 2008 Aaron’s Rental 500 US Hwy 92 East APD case
  • May 21, 2008 Rent-a-Center 1689 East Hinson Avenue HCPD case
  • May 22, 2008 Tiffany’s Furniture 3430 US Hwy 92 East PCSO case
