The Polk County HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) Task Force, which includes members from PCSO, FDLE, WHPD, LPD, and Haines City PD, obtained and served a search warrant for the residence located at 3055 US 98, south of Fort Meade, yesterday, March 9, 2005, based on probable cause received during an investigation.
The following seizures and arrests took place: 15 lbs. of marijuana (approximate street value of $200,00); 2 kilos of cocaine; 14 different types of firearms, ranging from an AK-47 assault rifle, to handguns, to riflesand shotguns; and approximately $4000 in U.S. currency.
Martin Ortiz, DOB 5/1/64, of the above-listed address, was arrested for Trafficking in Cocaine over 400 grams, Conspiracy to Traffick Cocaine, and Possession of Cannabis over 20 grams With Intent to Sell. He is being held under no bond in the Polk County Jail.
Elias Serrano, DOB 4/20/65, of 1707 Henry Road, Denmark, SC, was charged with the same charges as Ortiz, and is also being held under no bond in the Polk County Jail.
Mario Barbas-Olivares, DOB 12/27/70, from the Carlton Arms Apartments in North Lakeland, was charged with the same charges as the other 2 suspects, and additionally with 2 counts of Probation Violation from Hillsborough County, and he is a fugitive from justice, from Harris County, Texas. He is in the Polk County Jail under no bond.
