The Polk County Sheriff's Office will sponsor the Fourth Annual Girl Scouts Camporee at the Flaming Arrow Campground in Lake Wales this weekend, October 6-8, 2000.
The campground is located on Boy Scout Road, east of Lake Wales off Highway 60. Participating Girl Scouts range in ages from 7 to 18. A full day of Law Enforcement related activities will begin Saturday morning.
The day's activities will include special demonstrations from Polk County Sheriff's Office specialty units, including Aviation, Marine, Dive Team, Mounted Horse Patrol, K-9, Crime Scene Techniques, Hostage Negotiation, Traffic Control, and the Emergency Response Team.
After a morning of demonstrations by Sheriff's Office personnel, the Girl Scouts will participate in games and activities with an opportunity to earn awards and ribbons. The evening will conclude with the campfire presentation/awards ceremony and a dance.
