Sheriff's Office Looking For Hit and Run Vehicle

The Polk County Sheriff's Office is seeking information about a hit and run traffic accident which occurred on July 11, 2000 in the area of Old Highway 37 and Loop Road in Lakeland. 

About 10:00 p.m. on July 11, a 15-year-old male was walking along Old Highway 37 near Loop Road. The 15-year-old was struck from behind by a motor vehicle traveling south on Highway 37. The juvenile was transported to and treated for minor injuries at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. 

The vehicle left the scene of the accident without stopping. However, deputies found a right outside mirror at the scene but have not been able to identify the vehicle.
