Man Shot During Apparent Robbery/Home Invasion

Polk County Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating an apparent robbery/home invasion that occurred early this morning (Friday, July 28, 2000) at approximately 1:05 a.m. at a residence located at 3124 Harmon Lane in the Winter Haven area.

Initial investigation has revealed that up to seven black male suspects forced their way into the residence. The suspects - armed with handguns - ransacked the residence in what initially appears to be a robbery/home invasion.

During the incident, victim Reginald Alexander, DOB 5/15/81, of the residence, was shot prior to the suspects fleeing the scene. Alexander received life threatening injuries and was transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center, where he remains on life support.

Sheriff's Office detectives are searching for the black male suspects and anyone with information is asked to call Polk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS.
