Following a joint investigation by the Polk County Sheriff's Office Computer Crimes Unit, the Central Florida Child Exploitation Task Force and the FDLE, detectives arrested a Lakeland man this morning (Friday, Feb. 11, 2000) on child pornography charges.
Pawel Pochcial, DOB 12/27/79, of 1425 Thomasville Circle in Lakeland, was arrested at his residence around 11 a.m. this morning and charged with:
Three Counts Promotion/Distribution of Child Pornography
The undercover joint investigation revealed that Pochcial transmitted images of child pornography via the Internet to an undercover detective. According to investigators, Pochchial used Internet chat rooms to advertise that he had child pornography available. During the investigation, the undercover detective made contact with Pochcial in a chat room, and Pochcial then sent images of child pornography to the undercover detective via the Internet.
A search warrant was executed at Pochcial's residence this morning, and he was taken into custody and booked into the Polk County Jail on $500,000 bond. Computer equipment found at his residence was taken into evidence. Additional charges are expected pending examination of the computer evidence. The investigation is continuing.
