PCSO Investigating Overnight Traffic Death

Polk County Sheriff's Office Traffic Deputies are investigating the overnight death of a 41 year old Bartow woman. Janice Patrice Bostic, DOB 7/14/59, of 2927 Weaver St. in Bartow, was pronounced dead at the scene of a traffic accident located at Highway 17 and 91 Mine Rd. 

The accident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. last night (Thursday, November 2, 2000) when Bostic, who was wearing dark clothing, reportedly walked into the north bound lane of traffic on Highway 17. Bostic was struck by a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Stephanie Caraway, DOB 10/7/81, of 5045 Transport Rd. in Bartow. Caraway was not injured in the accident. 

The cause of the accident is still under investigation at this time and no charges have been filed.
