19 Arrested During Investigation Targeting Underage Drinking

The Polk County Sheriff's Office Bureau of Special Investigations Vice Unit, Tactical Drug Unit, Auto Theft Task Force Patrol Unit, along with the Department of Alcohol, Beverage and Tobacco arrested and charged 18 individuals Saturday, April 8, 2000 with possession of an alcoholic beverage by a person under 21 years of age and 1 individual with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The joint undercover operation targeting underage drinking was in response to complaints to the Sheriff's Office about underage drinking at Bubba's Mud Ranch located at 1085 Highway 92 West in Auburndale. Charles Parsons, DOB 05/22/56, of 2528 McCranie Place in Lakeland, manager of Bubba's Mud Ranch, was arrested and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The following were arrested and charged with possession of an alcoholic beverage by person under 21:

  • Daniel Guskay, DOB 02/14/81, of 1509 Orangewood Dr. in Lakeland.
  • Alicia Bush, DOB 09/02/79, of 114 Babson Dr. in Babson Park.
  • John Caustic, DOB 12/15/79, of 2709 Eaton Ave. in Eaton Park.
  • Joseph Bush, DOB 02/07/80, of 15 West Tillman Ave. in Lake Wales.
  • Melissa Canupp, DOB 06/05/81, of 1821 W. Majorie St. in Lakeland.
  • Chris Caustic, DOB 12/21/81, of 3225 Woodstock Ave. in Eaton Park.
  • James Petry, DOB 03/20/82, of 1234 Reynolds Rd. in Lakeland.
  • Keith Vaughn, DOB 06/20/81, of 2520 Rosyln Lane in Lakeland.
  • Nathan Burgess, DOB 01/01/81, of 6116 Scott Lake Rd. in Lakeland.
  • John Hughes, DOB 10/10/81, of 6740 Broken Arrow Trail S. in Lakeland.
  • Jordan Cox, DOB 12/18/81, of 504 Park Place in Lakeland.
  • Robert Crews, DOB 07/25/80, of 1197 Shadow Dr. in Lakeland.
  • Daniel Bailey, DOB 03/09/81, of 1515 Belmont Woods in Mulberry.
  • Ken Shelton Jr., DOB 02/09/81, of Ellie Rd. Lot C in Auburndale.

Four juveniles were also arrested and charged during the operation. The Polk County Sheriff's Office will continue to investigate and enforce underage drinking in the county.
