Suspects Arrested In Agricultural Theft Ring

Polk County Sheriff's Office Agricultural Unit Deputies arrested three Fort Meade residents and charged them with Dealing in Stolen Property for a series of agricultural thefts.

Arrested and charged were: David Parker, DOB 7/20/38, of 1650 West Highway 630 in Fort Meade, charged with five counts of Organized Dealing in Stolen Property. David DeVane, DOB 6/18/78, of same address, charged with five counts of Dealing in Stolen Property. Shane Lang, DOB 5/11/78, of same address, charged with five counts of Dealing in Stolen Property.

Investigation revealed that the suspects had stolen approximately 70 citrus tubs, a grove goat and a loader dump bed from five different victims. The stolen agricultural equipment was recovered from the suspects' property during the investigation. The three suspects were arrested May 12, 2001, and booked into the Polk County Jail. The investigation is continuing.
