Sheriff's Office Announces Five Additional Promotions

Sheriff Lawrence W. Crow, Jr., announced five additional promotions today. Two lieutenant and three sergeant promotions are the result of openings created by the retirement of two veteran department heads and subsequent leadership promotions announced earlier this week.

Department of Detention:

Sgt. Todd Borders, 32, of Lake Wales, will be promoted to the rank of lieutenant. He has been employed by this agency for 11 years, and has served as a sergeant for three years. He has an AS degree and is dual certified in both detention and law enforcement. He currently is assigned to South County Jail.

Detention Deputy Dan Cooley, 45, of Bartow, will be promoted to sergeant. He has been employed with the Sheriff's Office for 15 years, 8 months. He has a BA degree. He currently is assigned to Central County Jail.

Detention Deputy James Nabors, 36, of Lakeland, will be promoted to the rank of sergeant. He has been employed by this agency for 8 years. He has a BA degree. He currently is assigned to Detention Records.

Department of Law Enforcement:

Sgt. Larry Mike Pruitt, 35, of Haines City, will be promoted to the rank of lieutenant. He has been employed with the Sheriff's Office for 14 years, and has served as a sergeant for three years. He has a BA degree, and is currently seeking a Master's. He currently is assigned to the Bureau of Special Investigations.

Deputy Betty Holland, 33, of Winter Haven, will be promoted to sergeant. She has been employed with this agency for 14 years. She has an AS degree. She currently is assigned to the Central District.
