14-year-old arrested for calling in a bomb threat to school

A 14-year-old Lake Gibson Middle School student was arrested this afternoon, Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, and charged with calling in a bomb threat to his middle school in Lakeland. 

Charlie Kellar, DOB 7/12/86, of 6035 Norton Rd. Lot 26 in Lakeland, is charged with one count False Report About Planting A Bomb (F2). He was booked into the Polk County Juvenile Assessment Center. 

The investigation began after a bomb threat was called into the Polk County Sheriff's Office last Monday, Feb. 19, 2001. Kellar admits to making the 9-1-1 call and saying "there is a bomb in Lake Gibson Middle." School officials evacuated the students and staff while Sheriff's Office Deputies searched the school. No bombs were found during the search.
