Sheriff's Office To Participate In "Click It Or Ticket" Campaign

The Polk County Sheriff's Office, along with other state and local agencies will be working together to enforce safety belt use and child passenger safety during the Memorial Day weekend. The statewide initiative, "Click It or Ticket It," is aimed at saving lives and preventing the senseless tragedies that often occur when motorist aren't properly buckled up.

Motorists are reminded that laws pertaining to safety belt use have as much importance as those pertaining to speeding or other traffic safety issues. The Sheriff's Office will be participating in an enhanced child and seat belt enforcement campaign through the end of the Memorial Day weekend.

During the long holiday weekend, deputies will be writing tickets to those motorist who are not properly buckled up.
