Neighborhood Dispute Results in 6 Arrests

Polk County Sheriff's deputies arrested 6 men Thursday for their involvement in a neighborhood dispute that turned violent. 

At approximately 12:30 p.m., Polk Sheriff's deputies responded to a reported shooting at 4th St. in Eloise.  According to witnesses, as many as 15 people from 114 4th St. walked down the road to 104 4th St. Several of the individuals, 2 of which were armed, entered the home. 

After entering the home, Alexander McClain, DOB 7/24/81, of 114 4th St. in Eloise, pointed a handgun at residents inside. Timothy Footman, DOB 10/26/76, of 3329 Timberline Rd. W. in Winter Haven, struck Billy Black and Robert Black, of 104 4th St., with a handgun.  They suffered minor cuts on their heads from being struck.  After a brief altercation on the porch of the home, McClain, Footman, and the others returned to 114 4th St. 

A few minutes later, Stephen Hale, DOB 4/2/76, of 104 4th St in Eloise, who pulled up to his residence and witnessed the suspects running out of the front door, drove his Ford Mustang down 4th St. where McClain, Footman, and several others stood.  After nearly hitting an innocent man and a couple of individuals standing in front of 114 4th St., Hale's windshield was hit with a brick and had a shot fired through it.  Hale was not hit by the bullet.  He then returned to his home at 104 4th St.  Witnesses could not identify who fired the shot.

Those arrested included:

Alexander McClain, charged with Armed Burglary and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm

Timothy Footman, charged with Armed Burglary of an Occupied Residence and Aggravated Battery

Ronnie Robinson, DOB 10/12/70, of 114 4th St. in Eloise, charged with Burglary of an Occupied Residence and Battery

Sidney Hunt, DOB 2/27/83, of 3329 Timberline Rd. W. in Winter Haven, charged with Burglary of a Residence and Battery

Carlisle Johnson, DOB 1/9/81, of 3369 N. Ave. in Bartow, charged with Burglary of a Residence and Battery

Stephen Hale, charged with Aggravated Assault with a Motor Vehicle.
