Results in Large Cash and Drug Seizures, and Arrests
After a month long
investigation, the Polk County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit, Drug
Enforcement Administration (DEA), and Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office
have busted a cocaine organization that has been operating in South
Florida, Orange County, and Polk County.
During the month of November, undercover agents arranged for a suspected
cocaine buyer to purchase 16 kilos of cocaine. The suspect didn't
realize that the cocaine had been supplied by the Hillsborough County
Sheriff's Office. On Nov. 29, 2001, Mateo De
Jesus Dominguez, DOB 1/21/64, of 7796 W. 30th St. in Hialeah, Fl, gave
undercover agents $116,565 as a partial payment for 16 kilos of cocaine at
a Haines City residence. He was charged with Trafficking of Cocaine
and is currently awaiting federal charges in the PCSO jail.
While agents were taking part in the undercover operation in Polk County,
other Polk Sheriff's detectives and DEA agents were carrying out a federal
search warrant at a home in Orange County. Detectives searched the
home of Conrado Lago, DOB 2/19/58, of 10213 Brownwood Ave. in Orlando.
During the search of the residence, agents found approximately 16 kilos of
cocaine, a kilo of hash, a revolver, and a silencer. Agents also
found a cocaine conversion lab in a shed in the backyard of the residence.
Lago was charged with Trafficking of Cocaine and is awaiting federal
charges in the Seminole County Jail.
Eriberto Gonzalez Jr., DOB 11/23/65, of 2509 Broadway St. in Lakeland, was
also arrested and charged with trafficking of cocaine. Detectives
also seized a 1998 Toyota Tacoma pick-up and 1994 Honda Accord as a result
of the investigation.
The investigation was a joint effort between the PCSO Narcotics Unit, PCSO
Organized Crime Unit, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the
Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit.
