Haines City Resident Donates 15 Bullet Proof Vests to Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit

The Polk County Sheriff's Office will receive 15 K-9 vests from Cynthia Cline of Haines City during a presentation to Sheriff Lawrence W. Crow Wednesday, January 17 at 10:00 a.m. The presentation will be at USA Tanks located at 429 W. 12th St. in Haines City.

"It is comforting to know with donations such as this, we can protect our K-9's," said Sheriff Crow.

Mrs. Cline agreed to donate the vests to the Sheriff's Office after reading a recent story in which a police K-9 was killed in the line of duty (this was not a local case) and because of her love for dogs.

The bullet proof K-9 vest has an approximate value of $450. Many Sheriff's Office K-9 Officers and their canines will be in attendance with Sheriff Crow during the presentation. Mrs. Cline will be available for comment after the presentation.
