National Night Out

The Polk County Sheriff's Office and local Neighborhood Watch participants are joining forces with thousands of other communities across America in support of “National Night Out,” a program designed to heighten crime prevention awareness.  National Night Out will be held Tuesday, August 7, 2001.

More than 30 Neighborhood Watch groups in Polk County will be taking part in the event this year.  Members of the Polk County Sheriff's Office will be visiting each neighborhood and participating in activities which include flashlight walks, cookouts and ice-cream socials. All Polk County residents are encouraged to participate and support law enforcement in the fight against crime by turning on a porch light from 6-9 p.m.

For more information regarding Neighborhood Watch and National Night Out, please contact the Polk County Sheriff's Office Community Services Section at 863-534-0980.
