3 Teens Arrested for Dealing in Stolen Property

Polk County Sheriff's Office Detectives have arrested and charged 3 teens during a month long undercover investigation targeting stolen property. 

Arrested and charged were:

Kevin Jones, DOB 11/28/83, of 3400 Wells Rd. in Mulberry, charged with Dealing in Stolen Property (5 counts), Grand Theft, Possession of Xanex with Intent to Sell, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Sell, Resisting Arrest Without Violence and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Cecil Scalf, DOB 6/20/83, of 5104 Greenbrook Ln. in Mulberry, charged with 5 counts of Dealing in Stolen Property.

Mitchell Chamale, DOB 3/19/85, of 3815 Twilight Dr. in Mulberry, charged with Dealing in Stolen Property.

During the investigation, detectives made numerous buys of stolen property from the suspects. Most of the stolen property has been linked to burglaries or grand thefts in the South Lakeland and Mulberry areas.

On Tuesday, June 26, 2001 Jones and Chamale arranged to met 2 undercover detectives at the Texaco Station on Shepherd Rd. in Lakeland. During the meeting, Jones and Chamale agreed to sell the detectives 13 bars of Xanex, 28 grams of Cannabis, and several pieces of stolen property. Jones and Chamale were both arrested at the scene. During the arrest, Jones attempted to run from the area but was apprehended by D/S Romano and K-9 Reno who had responded to the scene for assistance. 

Scale was arrested a short time later at a nearby residence without incident. The investigation is continuing and additional charges are pending.
