Stolen Vehicle Suspect Arrested

The Polk County Sheriff's Office has arrested one of the suspects responsible for stealing a vehicle and fleeing from Osceola and Polk County deputies on September 27, 2001.

At approximately 8 a.m. today, deputies arrested 39-year-old Thomas Steven Greene, DOB 1/21/62, of 3403 Baker Dairy Rd. in Haines City, for Dealing in Stolen Property, Violation of Probation, Violation of House Arrest, and Resisting Without Violence.

On the morning of September 27, 2001, Polk County Sheriff deputies responded to the pursuit of a stolen pick-up truck, which began in Osceola County and entered Polk County. Deputies attempted to stop the stolen white Dodge 4x4 pick-up truck, occupied by two white males. The pursuit ended when the suspects bailed from the vehicle in a pasture near Loughman, and eluded deputies on foot.

At approximately 8 a.m. this morning, deputies, with the assistance of a K-9 Unit, apprehended Greene as he attempted to flee from a residence in Davenport.
