A Special Thank You to the News Media: Recently, because of television news coverage of the vehicle pursuit of suspect Jason Allen Hunter on July 26, 2001, a citizen called in a Crime Stoppers tip that led Sheriff's Office deputies directly to the suspect later that night. Hunter, who has a lengthy criminal history, and was wanted for a number of felony warrants, was taken into custody without incident. This is just one example of the many positive aspects of comprehensive and quality news coverage on the part of local television, radio and newspaper organizations.
There are many examples of Crime Stoppers News Releases that have been covered and followed-up by the news media that have generated significant calls to the toll-free number. This program is working; and is made possible only by the news media. THANK YOU!
