PCSO Investigating Overnight Traffic Accident

Polk County Sheriff's Office Traffic Deputies are investigating an overnight traffic accident and seeking to locate a possible eye witness that was in the area. The accident occurred at approximately 11:10 p.m. at the intersection of 26th Street and Havendale Blvd. in Inwood. 

Ivery Gordon, of Inwood (no other information available), was pushing his bicycle across the intersection when he stepped into the path of a 1988 GMC truck that was heading East on Havendale Blvd. Gordon was seriously injured by the impact and taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center by county ambulance. The occupants of the vehicle were Larry Williams, DOB 11/15/59, of 3317 Alberta St. in Bartow; and William Dokins, DOB 7/26/70, of 4091 Radiford Rd. in Bartow. The driver and speed of the vehicle is still under investigation. 

Deputies are seeking to locate the driver of a blue car that was in the area at the time of the accident. If anyone has information about this blue car or its' driver, they should call the Polk County Sheriff's Office at 533-0344, or Sgt. Mike Schreiber at 534-6379. 

The cause of the accident is still under investigation at this time and no charges have been filed.
