Haines City Home Invasion Suspects Apprehended

Polk County Sheriff's Office Robbery detectives, in conjunction with the Fugitive Warrants Unit, apprehended Christopher L. Turner of Haines City on July 23, 2002, for crimes he committed in June and outstanding warrants issued 4 months ago.  Turner, DOB 1/22/82, had several warrants for his arrest from April 2002, for Violation of Probation for Conveyance Burglary, Grand Theft Auto, Felony Fleeing or Attempting to Elude, and Resisting a Law Enforcement Officer. 

Turner was most recently charged with Armed Burglary, Armed Robbery, Armed Kidnapping, and Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling, for a home invasion robbery at 511 Bradbury Road in Haines City on June 25, 2002. 

 

 

His accomplice in that crime, Lamont Crowe, DOB 5/31/62, of 704 North 8th Street, Haines City, was arrested on July 13, 2002, on identical charges and outstanding Violation of Probation warrants of his own (Driving While License  Suspended/Revoked and Cocaine Possession).

 

Turner was located at his mother's residence, 1308 Ave I in Haines City.  When Sheriff's deputies surrounded the house, Turner attempted to flee by jumping through a window.  However, upon threat of a K-9 apprehension, Turner complied with deputies and was taken into custody without incident. Turner and Crowe are currently being held without bond in the Polk County Jail.
