PCSO Investigating String of Vehicle Thefts in SE Winter Haven

Polk County Sheriff's Detectives are investigating a trend of vehicle thefts that occurred in southeast Winter Haven the weekend of December 7-8, 2002.  All of the vehicles taken were red in color, and were all within a 2-mile range of each other in the Lake Ned / Mahogany Run
area.

The following cases occurred over the weekend:

Between 6:00 p.m. Friday and 2:00 p.m. Saturday, William Larsen's 1998 red Ford pickup
truck was taken from his residence at 215 Cleveland Avenue.

Between 7:00 p.m. Friday and 7:00 a.m. Saturday, Latasha Kendrick's 2000 red Honda
Accord was taken from her residence at 4011 Lake Ned Circle.

Between 8:00 p.m. Friday and 11:30 a.m. Saturday, four storage units at Riverlake
Apartments, located at 4200 Southeast Mahogany Run, were burglarized and a red Yamaha
motorcycle was taken.

Incidentally, another case that may be related occurred between 7:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.
Monday night, December 2, 2002, when a 1987 red Chevrolet was stolen from 3492
Southeast Dexter Shores.
