PCSO Detectives To Participate In Annual “Cops And Lobsters” Event

Polk County Sheriff's Office detectives assigned to the West Region General Crimes Unit may be serving your next meal.  They will be participating in the annual “Cops and Lobsters” event to help raise money for the Special Olympics on two occasions, Friday, April 26 and Friday, May 3, 2002.

Each year, the Special Olympics and participating Red Lobster restaurants team up in a fund-raiser that includes local police officers and deputies, in their respective uniforms, acting as waiters and waitresses.  All tips earned by law enforcement personnel are donated to the Special Olympics organization.
This year's event takes place on April 26 at the Red Lobster in North Lakeland, 3706 US Hwy 98 North, with Lakeland police officers working during the lunch hour, and Sheriff's detectives taking over during dinner from 6 to 9 p.m. The Polk County Sheriff's Office will also wait tables at the Winter Haven Red Lobster, 230 Cypress Gardens Boulevard, during evening hours on Friday, May 3.
