Criminal Justice, Law And Career Academy To Be Showcased In Joint Media Briefing

In a joint media briefing, City of Lakeland Police Chief Clifford Diamond and Polk County Sheriff Lawrence W. Crow, Jr., will spotlight the Criminal Justice, Law, and Career Academy on Tuesday, Mar. 19, 2002, at 10 a.m., at Kathleen High School, located at 2600 Crutchfield Road in Lakeland.

The Criminal Justice, Law and Career Academy, Inc., is a small learning community within the campus of Kathleen High School. It is the first of its type in the county. As such, it provides a unique educational opportunity for high school students interested in exploring career opportunities in criminal justice, law and other related careers. This year, 100 students are enrolled in these programs. Emphasis is placed on writing, oral presentations and hands-on skills. Integrity, ethics and character are stressed daily as essential requirements necessary to be involved in any area of criminal justice, law or related careers.
